What Just Happened?

First of all: congrats, you just went LARPing!

No, really. You had a character, goals, at least one piece of costuming, you interacted with our zany factory world, and you probably role played. That’s all the cupcake ingredients. You went LARPing!

Most importantly, you entered the world of Sporebound, and you worked with your fellow Sporebound to pursue secret sabotage and reconnaissance against VerdaTech, a company that’s been consumed by the Blue Blight. Welcome to the resistance.

Setting

Sporebound is a FungusPunk LARP set in the American 80s. But in our 80s, instead of the world slowly getting worse due solely to rampant greed and runaway Capitalism, there’s an extra reason: The Blue Blight. The world has been secretly influenced by The Mycos, extra-dimensional beings whose footprint is only seen in the mold around our world, but through incredible power have influenced our world since lichen first digested the soil we now walk on. One of them, Chartarum, seen as Toxic Black Mold, but known to the Sporebound as The Blue Blight due to its tell-tale glow in their eyes, has taken over the most powerful and selfish in the world, and geared their selfishness towards making the world unlivable for us, but perfect for The Blight.

Unlike the Blighted, controlled by the Blue Blight, the Sporebound are allies of their Mycos, which acts as their symbiote. It can make them quite powerful, able to perform heroic acts against The Blight. But the Sporebound must still lay low, working together to resist The Blue Blight and its powerful minions.

Sporebound is a world of leftist infighting, resistance networks, sabotage, and hope. If you’d like to learn more, read about it on Sporebound.com.
